A dress, I mean pants, no a maxi dress!

In the last few days before my trip to the UK, I have made plans to make a white eyelet dress, then changed my mind and decided to make another linen pant a la V8584 and tonight I changed my mind again.  Man!  Talk about sewing ADD.  Sheesh.  As I was walking home tonight after work, I had the genius idea to make a simple shirred top maxi dress out of the awesome knit Carolyn picked up for me at Fabricmart a couple of months ago.  Remember this one?

How fun would that be?!?!?  I am digging this idea.  And it would be super quick.  I pick up my serger and sewing machine from being serviced tomorrow.  I have to say that I feel weird to be without my machines.  It’s almost as if a limb is missing.  I kid you not!

In other sewing news…  I slapped some labels on some bibs I had made previously and am gifting them to a coworker who’s wife is ready to pop soon.  I wanted to give the gift before I’m out of the office.  I love the prints on these bibs.  So sweet!

Love!

Happy sewing everyone!

I hope the UK weather lives up to your expectations so you get to wear the maxi dress if you make it. The fabric does look fabulous. have a great trip whatever you decide to make!

That is perfect fabric! The weather here is sometimes very cool and damp even in summer. But, when the sun does come out people here really go for it! Maxi dresses are very popular in my neck of the woods:-)

Shirring is totally brilliant. The only thing about it that takes any time is hand-winding the bobbin. That fabric will make a great maxi!
