Can you believe it?

I can’t.  My movers have already arrived with all my stuff all the way from NYC!

They came yesterday.  From what I can tell so far, most everything made it ok.  I had a few wine glass casualties and a couple of my boxes of fabric were a little worse for wear, but I think they’re ok.  I just hope there were no bed bugs on the trucks.  *crossing fingers*

Today, I spent most of the day unpacking Jack’s toys.  He had his priorities I guess.  Now that he’s all set up I can concentrate on my sewing room.  I actually have a fabric closet all to myself.  My sewing table is set up, but I have to unpack all the machines, fabric and notions and start organizing.  My sewing table is in my bedroom again, but it’s big enough to do dual duty.  I don’t have as much natural light in this room, but I hope to get some proper lighting set up soon asap because I have two little coordinating little girl dresses to make pronto!

Since I have no sewing pictures to show you yet, I just have to share a picture of Jack enjoying the pool in the backyard.  He loves it and keeps asking me if we can live here forever.  So cute.

Happy sewing everyone!

Glad the move went ok, can’t wait to see the new sewing set-up! Looks like there will be a lot of fun happening in the mean time.

(Also, on a random side note, because I had a friend who after three hospitalizations found out she was deathly allergic to bed bug bites and I know they have been a bit of an issue in CA lately – if you find you have them, get some diatomaceous earth and spread it around the house. It dries them out and kills them, then you just vacuum everything up and you are good to go.)

I’m so glad the move is working out well for you.

Your backyard is amazing! And it’s wonderful that your sweet young man enjoys it, too 🙂

I can’t get over the pool and view!
Can’t wait to hear all about the ups and downs of getting settled in and, of course, seeing what you sew for your new environment.

What a pool and what a view!!!
I was in San Diego for 3 months years ago and the view brings back memories. 🙂

Fantastic that everything got there so quickly! I’m with Jack about living there forever :-). I am sure you will be settled down in no time. Jack already has.

Condolences on your wineglasses… but from what I hear, you won’t miss these few!

How wonderful that your stuff has arrived already already. Brilliant. And the pool is glorious – I hope you lie beside it dangling toes in too. With martini or whatever.

Bed bugs are the pits and I never thought about moving trucks being a vector for them. Ewwwww ewwww ewww. We had a terrible time with them on holiday in Rome years ago and it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. Fingers crossed for you.
