I’m back!

I know things here have been relatively quiet here the last two months, but time has been short for me.  I really haven’t been sewing and it felt weird to write just filler posts just to keep you all close.

To be honest, I have been so over-scheduled with a lot of evening and weekend activities that, when I am home, it takes me two evenings just to decompress before I even consider doing something creative.  I really miss sewing and being creative.  I feel like I have lost an important part of myself and how I like to live on a daily basis.  Being creative, whatever medium I choose, is how I stay sane and grounded.  And let’s not forget what a great stress reliever creativity can be.

Long story long, last night I curled up on the couch and finally wove in the ends on Jack’s stripey scarf and started hemming my cashmere curse.  I just have to sew the lining to the slit and to the zipper and this puppy is done!  I haven’t finished Jack’s sweater yet, but I will — I have already cast on the neck edge stitches.

I guess I could have pushed forward and attempted finishing the skirt last night, but by the time I finished hand sewing the hem it was already 11:15pm.  I didn’t want to push to finish and then make mistakes.  This fabric is too nice for that.  I want to treat it with respect.

I’ll have pictures Thursday hopefully.  Tonight I am going to see a play, so Wednesday night will be my next sewing opportunity.

I’m so excited to back in the saddle again.  In this space, a creative place, is where I like to live.

Happy sewing everyone!

Welcome back! I’m going through the same thing, must be something in the air!
