Will mood be open then? I placed a few orders on-line recently and they
say at the top of their Web page that the CA location is closed for repairs.

Elizabeth–I was just at the LA Fashion District over the weekend. I shopped Michael Levine and was disappointed at the prices. Went around the corner to Journal Fabric Inc, 419 # 9th St, 90015, and found a fabulous selection of silk charmeuse. I bought an animal print, 55″ for $12/yd. Michael Levine did not have this high quality charmeuse and what they did have was 45″ wide and $30.00/yd. Just saying . . . shop the smaller stores too. I also bought wool at the store on the corner between Michael Levine and Journal (sorry, I don’t have the name). I always ask for the “best price” and pay cash. They discounted the wool from $15 to $12, and I only bought three yards. Happy Shopping! Lynn (also a member of SD ASG)

Hi Elizabeth. Wish I were still going to be in CA then! My DH and I have been visiting DD and DGD in Camarillo. She took me downtown one day and I was in heaven but didn’t have enough time to just explore. Mood Fabric was closed 2 weeks ago. We went to several stores reviewed on Deepika’s Pattern Review: Rimmon’s, F&S, Michael Levine, and a couple of the hole-in-the-wall shops. Now I know who to contact next time I visit from Arkansas. I enjoy your blog!!!!

Sadly I can’t make either day – skating regionals is soon and I have to get a million things done before then. I want to see photos of everyone’s fabric buys though!

    Elizabeth..
Hi. Wish I could join you on Wed. There is a wonderful store on Wall St around the corner
from Michael Levine’s that specializes in all Hawaiian prints. ( I can’t think of the name of it). Left side of the street in the direction of Berger Beads. They have all kinds hanging from the walls and it’s a very well organized space. That is if you like that kind of stuff. Alot of the stores as you know just have everything against the wall. Fun ,but I do like order sometimes. Hope all of you have a great time

I would love to join in the fabric store field trip! Probably would only be able to go the first half of the day.

I am going to have to bail around 2:30 or so. I have to pick someone up from the John Wayne airport at 3:50. I’m sure I’ll hit some traffic along the way. Sorry!
