Liberty of London or Bust!

2011 July 25
by elizabeth_admin

I’m in London now!  I love this city.  The vibe here is almost indescribable.  It has a high energy like New York City has, but it’s so different from NYC.  There’s such an old/new mash up here.  Everything here seems so posh, even the trash.  Haha!

I am really looking forward to my Liberty of London meet up on Wednesday.  If you’re around, please join us at 2pm in front of the store.  I can’t wait to meet old and new friends.  We’ll grab a pint afterwards at some nearby pub too.

Here’s a couple of pics from this past week’s visit to Wales.

The amazing sandcastle that Dave and his daughters made

My lovely hosts, Maureen and Dave (I'm wearing my black eyelet B5147 natch)

Hope you’re all sewing up a storm while I’m gone.  My reader list is GINORMOUS!!!!

Enjoy your trip. I’ll be in London in January so will be interested in your fabric souvenir tips.

I literally burst in to tears when I went to Liberty. Granted, I wasn’t yet 30 years old, but still, I hope you’re tougher than me. I was overwelmed. I think I could handle it now.

Have a lovely time. Bring home lots of souveniers!

Love the ‘old / new mash up’ description. Get out to the City (rather than the West End) and that’s where the old / new mash up is the most extreme – I think there is a 17th century church slap bang next to the Lloyds Building with its steel and exposed innards.

The B5147 dress looks just as great in Wales as it did in NYC! Glad you are having a great time!
