I haven’t done any sewing for a few days now since the french seam debacle and subsequent need to unpick miles of black on black small stitches in chiffon.  But hey, I’m not bitter about that!  😉   Oh, I found a picture of the chiffon I’m using for the Simplicity top.  It’s the one on the right…

As I was saying…  I have had a friend staying with me and it’s kind of rude to sew while entertaining.  So sewing has been on the back burner the last few days.

Actually now is a good time to mention that I am moving into a bigger apartment soon (at the end of the month soon).  So the next few weeks will probably be low on sewing output for me as I start to disassemble my sewing area and pack up my apartment.  I plan to have my sewing area in my new bedroom which will have no tv (and hopefully increase my sewing time) so that I can have a real dining area in my apartment again.  It should also have the added benefit of limiting the messy look of my public space so that Jack and I can have friends over without being embarrassed by the chair of fabric and the dining room table that masqueraded as a sewing studio.

Wish me luck with the move.  I am gonna need it!

How exciting for such an active sewist to move to a bigger space. You will love it! Good luck.

I wish you luck with the move and much happiness for you and Jack in your new apartment. Once all the packing and unpacking is over you will be able to luxuriate in your new-found spaciousness and enjoy your sewing area ….. and make many lovely things there!

Good luck with the move! It is so liberating to gain a proper sewing space – keep your eyes on the prize while you’re going through the upheaval to get there!

Wow, your chair-o-fabric pic totally freaked me out – not in a bad way, just eerie. I counted at least 6 pieces of fabric (prints) that I own exactly the same fabric and have it currently languishing in my stash. I actually did a double take and checked to see that I was looking at a photo of someone else’s fabric and not my own! What can I say, you have GREAT taste!

    Good luck with moving…. 🙂

Hope the move goes smoothly for you. I know how it when the sewing takes over the “supposed to be” living area.

All the best with your move to the new place. It will be great to have an area for sewing out of the public eye!

Best of luck!! Your plan for the new place sounds like a good one!

Fingers crossed for a smooth move. However welcome it is, it still manages to be stressful, so be kind to yourself, and promise yourself lots of sewing in the coming months to make up for it. More space will be heavenly, and I hope you & Jack settle in quickly. (Also pics will be required of the new sewing space!)

I know this has been coming but I’m cringing this thinking about it. I HATE MOVING! So I definitely feel for you. After you unpack the beds and the kitchen, do your sewing room next! *LOL*
