Miss me?

Hey there, I’ve been busy with Jack’s nanny visiting from New York this past weekend.  What a wonderful if bittersweet visit.  Jack was just over the moon to see her and  I cried several times knowing how sad he (and I) would be when she left.  He loves her so.  She’s a part of our family.  If there is one negative about moving to San Diego, it is that we no longer have Anne as part of our every day lives.  We really miss her.

But life goes on and life changes and…

Today, I am going to start my dad’s birthday gift with the new plaid flannel I bought last week.

But I have to say that I am really distracted by this Asos top.

Ever since Meg made her leather top last year, I have been thinking about making one for myself too.  And then I came across the Asos top on the interwebs today and I am completely and utterly obsessed.  I think there might be some online fabric purchasing and pattern hunting in my very near future.

Happy sewing peeps!

I love that ASOS top! In fact, I almost hit “add to cart”…

Does this mean that I can invite myself to San Diego? That I don’t have to wait patiently to be invited? I mean I’m missing you too and could do with some sunshine!!!

I just made another leather top! Totally addicted to sewing leather. It just behaves so well and you never leave the sewing machine all covered in thread.

Hm, I should make a leather top for winter… I love sewing leather. However, I don’t think the sleeves on that Asos top are real leather. I agree it’s a very interesting and cool look but the sleeves are so slim they have to be made from something properly stretchy, probably lycra with a leather-look finish.

You know, I think about that leather top by Meg too. I think it’s one of my favorite projects by another sewist. And Meg is right about sewing on leather. It does behave well.
