New New Look

Before you ask, no I didn’t sew last night.  And no, I didn’t have knitting group last night either.  By the time I got home, I was bushed after a tough day at work (at which a rubber band was shot into my eye – No Joke), and I just didn’t have the energy to clean up the apt before everyone arrived.

Ok, now that the confessional is over, on to the goodies…

I checked out the new New Look patterns for Spring and really liked a few.  Here’s what I bought…

And just to shake things up a bit, a Simplicity pattern thrown in the mix.

The Simplicity pattern I’m not sure about yet, it has potential frump factor, but then so does NL 6022.  We’ll see.  I have no idea when I’ll get to these, but at least they’ll be there when I want to make them.

Happy sewing everyone!  I think my mojo is returning.  *phew*

I really like 6023. If you can get that one to fit, you could make all the versions and no one would be the wiser!

I just found your site while researching the 6023 – love the look of this one, especially dress C with 3/4 sleeves…good one for Autumn too.
p.s. hope your eye’s ok now!

I like the Simplicity suit, although I probably would leave off the epaulettes and straps on the cuffs. The dress that goes with it could look frumpy on some women, as could the New Look chemise dress. Hard to say without seeing them made up.

Although it looks pretty on the model, the Simplicity dress looks like the kind of inexpensive dresses I used to buy in college and in my early 20s. They were made out of polyester or rayon challis and had shallow armscyes to save fabric.

The other patterns are nice and seemingly quite versatile.
