I have been in planning mode.  So much is going on here at Chez Sewn.  Very exciting.

First off, I just received a reproduction pattern from EvaDress Patterns.  I am attending a Gatsby Gala in May and want to make a decade appropriate dress for it.  Phyllis suggested I look at EvaDress patterns and I found the perfect one, the 1929 Evening Frock and Vest, #6634

Isn’t that a sweet frock?   Now I just need to find the perfect fabric for this project.  Click on the picture to go to the pattern site.

I also received a couple of Sewaholic patterns from Tasia’s birthday sale.  I am going to make up a toile of the Renfrew top today and see how it fits.

And in non-sewing news, I have been running with a friend and on my own the last few weeks.  And today another local friend mentioned a 5K, the Color Me Rad race, that was coming up in June and the next thing I knew I registered for my first 5K run ever.  I can’t believe I’m doing this.  I hope I make it to the finish line.  It’s just far off enough to work up to and not that long of a race distance-wise.  I think it just might be fun to do!

Wish me luck on all my projects coming up, including the race.  I’m gonna need it!!!

Go for the 5k! I ran my first one this past November, and I’m 54. It’s so much fun running with so many people. You’ll be glad you did. And I ant wait to see the Gatsby frock

I can’t wait to see your version of this dress! 5K runs are fun — no pressure and it is so energizing to be among a bunch of other runners. You’ll have a great time!

congratulations on the running Elizabeth! I love watching the sense of pride & accomplishment when people take up running and start setting goals.
Not enough to do it myself, mind you, but I love watching others 🙂
