Step 1

So when you’re low on sewing mojo reserves, what is the very first thing you should do?  Buy fabric, duh!

Today, my local ASG group met up at the National City Swap Meet to shop for fabric.  A lot of LA jobbers sell their wares there for super low prices.  That’s where Dawn of Two On Two Off buys a ton of her knits when she’s down here on vacation.  And did you see that Sheila just visited my old neighborhood store, P&S Fabrics in downtown NYC???  Boy did she make me miss New York.

Anyway, I scored some great fabrics.  Since I was missing NYC, I bought a lot of black prints.

And the pièce de resistance was this stripey knt with a waved tuck sewn into it.  OMG, I die.  I saw it at the back of a van on a bolt and knew I must have it.  People, I won’t lose weight for men, but I would lose weight for this fabric because I can already see it made up as a body-con sheath dress.  I would definitely lose weight for this beauty.  *sigh*

And then I came home to this little package in the mail…

black rayon beaded double gauze -- luscious!

Mood had this on sale a few days ago and I bought it faster than you can say lost mojo.   I can’t believe it came so fast either.  It’s a rayon double gauze (yes, double gauze!) with beading.  It is seriously TDF.  I die again.

So all in all peeps, it was a rather good day for the fabric closet and me.  I even think I can feel a flicker of sewing mojo in my center.

These are gorgeous and I know they will do the trick for you…you will have a B/W wardrobe worthy of NYC. 🙂 Totally envious of your fabric stores nearby.

It was MPB Day yesterday and you were thought of/missed!

I sewed a body con skirt from that same wavy fabric a few years ago. Definitely worth dieting for!

The ladybug and tomato print is adorbs!

There was an Advance pattern at the MPB pattern swap yesterday which made me think of you. I also thought “no way am I taking that pattern” after reading about your issues with the shirt!
