Thank you note

A big thank you to you all for your gracious comments.  I am so excited about SEWN and what 2011 will bring.

As I mentioned in my last post, I had a lot of help in making this new design a reality.  Lindsay Tpointed me in the direction of the designer I used, Denise Walsh.  Denise was a pleasure with whom to work.  She is a good listener and delivered exactly what I asked.  She was patient with me when I switched ideas in mid-stream and when I asked for tweaks of the design.  Denise even helped me after the design was finalized when I found out that the header measurements didn’t fit for WordPress or for Etsy.  Let me know if you need her contact info; I think she’s a dynamite designer!

Another big thanks goes to my brother Tim who graciously helped me over the weekend when I discovered I would need my own domain and a server to host the blog in order to use my new spiffy design.  He spent hours on the phone with me setting up the server, uploading WordPress, and editing the HTML and CSS code.  All while his cute little daughter Haley was wailing in the background wanting to play with her daddy.  Tim really saved the day for me.  A special thanks to Haley for sharing her dad with me.  😉

It’s been a busy last few weeks for me with the holidays and setting up SEWN.  I am still trying to figure out what needs to be done next, but I haven’t forgotten my ponte knit dress which waits for me on the dining room table, aka SEWN’s sewing studio.

Happy sewing to you all!

I’m glad you had a good experience with Denise. I think she’s great to work with, and I love the logo she designed for Shop the Garment District.

Good luck to you Elizabeth, sounds like a lot of work and planning has gone into this. It’s something I have thought about doing for a while but still haven’t done anything about it so good for you!

How technologically incompetent am I? I was supposed to leave a comment on your new blog not your old one! So I will repost what I said: Congratulations with your new website Elizabeth, it looks lovely and it looks like all your hard work has paid off! Also, good luck with your new venture, wishing you all the best with it!
